Happy Poetry Friday! Today, I am sharing one more wonder poem in honor of the Purple Martins' return before my own return to work on another important project. Thank you for visiting me and the Purple Martins this week on the ridge! For more Poetry Friday goodness visit Michelle at Today's Little Ditty.
I wish everyone a week filled with writing and happiness! I am taking next week off to spend some time with my boys and to work on revising my novel. Have a great week!
Invitation to Write:
Writers often have a project or a series of projects that they are working on. These projects can take on many different forms and have a variety of different purposes depending on the writer's goal or audience. Taking on a project can give your writing focus and can create an energy to keep you on track to fulfilling your writing goals. Have you ever initiated a project for yourself as a writer? If so, how did it go? If you haven't participated in a project before, what kind of project would you choose? Thinking about the genres or topics that interest you can be a great place to start when deciding on a project. So whether you are working on a poetry anthology, magazine article, novel, picture book, or a different type of project; I wish you all the best as you work to achieve your writing project goals!

What a lovely salute to these birds, Linda. I've never seen one, so googled to see what they looked like. Purple is my favourite colour, so am pleased to see that they are, indeed, purple. as for projects, I have just finished one, sending off the sixth manuscript in my chapter book series, and am in the finishing stages of a huge project; my doctoral thesis. Both projects have spread oevr a few years, so am looking forward to starting some new projects in the near future.

It's love for all those birds who "weather" so much to make their return. Amazing to imagine, isn't it? Enjoy your week next week with family & the project!

Sometimes we forget just how incredible migration is - how impossible it seems that a tiny little bird can travel such incredible distances, and find their way to and from their different homes year after year! A fitting celebration of such an incredible journey.

A promise fulfilled is a promise returned......the heart of it all right there. Those Purple Martins hold promise for you. And, you are so kind to share the joy of that with us. I envy a week of novel writing. I'm wishing you lot and lots and lots of words!

It is amazing how far the little birds migrate. I always wonder if the fledglings are nervous about the coming migration. A new place, really far, food iffy on the way, shelter iffy, storms, hawks and maybe getting lost! Eek!

Kiesha, I like how the martins' return is inspiring your own return to a project...and now I'm just very curious about what that is!
