Happy Poetry Friday! I am so grateful to be back with this amazing community of poets! I can't wait to read all the poetry offerings waiting to be unwrapped at Donna's space, Mainley Write, on this last Poetry Friday round-up of the year. It feels so wonderful to be writing for myself again. For some time, much of my writing has been the academic kind. Now that I have completed my master's degree program, I can give myself fully to my writing life. I can return to my pen and notebook. I may be a bit rusty, but I believe writing is the kind of thing that comes back to you with ease. Like a beloved song or some fond memory from childhood, it's always there. It always waits, and it always takes us back whenever we are ready to return. Invitation to Write:For me, nature is a sturdy workbench for my writing. I will make time and listen, to hear the words that it may speak.
Whatever your workbench may be, my hope is that you return to it again and again. It will be there, ready to help you accomplish the work of your heart.

Welcome back, Kiesha, and congrats on your master's work! It must feel very fine to have that under your belt. I love "we insist. you. listen." but even more I like your "sturdy workbench" idea. You should work with that, ON that! Happy New Year to you and yours.

Keisha! Welcome back! Welcome home...and MANY congratulations on finishing your master's work. Well done. You aren't a bit rusty. These crows are speaking to me from the screen. I've wondered where you got off to. Glad that creative writing is pulling you back to your workbench. You belong at the writer's table.

Congratulations and welcome back. A wonderful accomplishment, indeed. I, too, look forward to returning to the "workbench" when so many other commitments and distractions pull me away. I was counting the days until I could return to "the vortex," as Louisa May Alcott (and I!) call it. I was thinking a bit about line breaks this week, and your offering was a wonderful example of their importance -- "We insist/You/Listen." Happy new year!

Kiesha, it is so good to have your voice back on PF. Now that you are finished with your master's degree (congratulations) and listening to nature, I am wondering if you wrote a poem dealing with autumn for my upcoming autumn gallery. Let me know.

The crows caw here, too, though I'm not sure worms appear-no rain! Welcome back & congratulations on your finishing your Master's Degree, Kiesha. That is wonderful. Happy New Year wishes to you!

Congratulations on finishing your masters. That's huge! I love this idea and how it shows up in your poem today: "nature is a sturdy workbench for my writing." Well said.
