Poetry Friday is back again! Thanks for joining in the round-up this week. For more Poetry nuggets, visit Irene at her space Live Your Poem. In October, I can always depend on many joyous moments and autumn offerings to inspire gobs and gobs of writing. Unfortunately, I can't always depend on my busy schedule to allow me to write them down. I have tried many things to keep my writing life at the forefront of this busy season, like keeping pens and notebooks everywhere or setting a reminder on my phone. However, none of these strategies have worked as well for me as my new favorite writing tool, Google Keep. If you aren't familiar with this app, I have included a button below the screenshot for more information. In a nutshell, it's an efficient and simple way to capture your words throughout the day. You can make lists, snap images, voice record, and write! There is even an option to create tags and to set background colors. This really helps categorize your notes and topics. This digital note taking tool can be very helpful for any writer on the go. I love to share new devices, especially when they help writers continue writing throughout the hustle and bustle of each new season. Invitation to Write:What are your favorite tools for writing? Think about how they help you stay on track with your writing goals. How do they make it easier for you to write either at home or on the go?

I've never heard of Google Keep! I do use the notes feature on my iphone ALL. THE. TIME. Just to capture words/images as they come. Quite handydandy. Thank you for sharing... keep creating!

I use a lot of Google apps, but had not yet heard of Keep. I will check it out. It looks like a nifty app to collect ideas, images and words.

Google Keep is new to me, too, Kiesha. I will check it out. Like Irene, I usually take notes on my phone with my "notes" app, but this might offer more! I also use lots of sticky notes! Thanks for this new idea!

I have Google Keep on my computer, but I have to admit, I don't use it. Not sure why, but I am guessing it is because my go-to is still Safari, not Chrome. This makes me want to try it out on my phone. Thanks for the suggestion!

oooooh. This is perfect. I sometimes e-mail myself with poem ideas....and photos. But, that is kinda cumbersome and not quite right. This looks super good. And, I love what you have captured. Thanks for the tip, I'll let you know how I like it. I'm incredibly busy these days with prepping my school for an author visit and book fair is running....ack! But, it's all good stuff. Just a lot!

Thanks for sharing, Keisha. Does data need to be enabled to use the app, do you know? Rural internet and all, I have 3GB of data for a month (extra on w'ends - or you'd never see me on the PoetryFriday rounds :P) so it wouldn't be viable for me if it does need constant data.

Thanks for sharing Google Keep. When I'm on the go, I tend to write on scraps of paper and in small notebooks. If I'm desperate, I'll even do a voice to text note on my phone. I'm not sure I'm really ready for the tech world yet, but if I ever get there, I'll definitely "keep" this in mind.

I started "keeping" with Google Keep, but it's just one more place to have to look to find my jots and notes, so I'm back down to the plain and simple writer's notebook! Glad it works for you!

I can hear your acorns crackling between the lines of your poem, and the golden rod gleaming with sunshine, the image is lovely too! Thanks for the tip on google notes Kiesha.

Kiesha, organizing my notes is an endless task. While I have heard of Google Keep, I am not used it but it sounds like it would help me. I like the rattle trap sound and the way you read your poem. Reminder to send me one of your autumn image poems for my fall gallery, Autumn Ablaze (invitation link included in my PF blog today).
